Title: "Restoring Car And Driver's '70s Pinto Racer"
Post by: stevefromcpr on August 29, 2006, 01:52:10 AM
Latest Auto Restorer magazine (September 2006) that arrived yesterday (8/28) contains part 1 of Don Sherman's article about restoring Car & Driver's '72 Pinto Sedan that was apparently raced by the magazine in the '73-'74 time period. Looks like mostly car history, disassembly and overall project philosophy for this installment.

I remember this car from some very old issues of Car and Driver. I wondered what happened to this car. I am glad to see it is still around.

Thanks for putting the information on this magazine! I also like that they have an article "Building an Ideal Shop, Pt. 2" that I'm going to try to get a copy of the mag for! Always learn new ideas with these articles!

Happy to pass along the info Tercin and wagonmaster.

There's also a piece in that issue about "Planning for Hershey," which I'm going to also have to read--have done Hershey several times, but never hurts to read any & all info available about it. I just noticed recenly on the AACA forums that the Hershey Car Corral this year is going to be out in the old "Blue Field," which, far as I know, is an unpaved, sloped *cow pasture*--FAR CRY from the paved-with-lights-for-nighttime-browsing venues where it has been laid out for as far as I can remember. And then, of course, we have the ever-present thread of rain (& mud)...so...this year should be interesting...
