ok not to sound dumb. i need someone who can give me the info i need on. puting a va 302 in a pinto what frame work does and don't need to be done. this will be done on a 1975. would like to also hook a c4 automatic transmtion to it. anyone who would be nice enuff to email me the complete info on this i would really thank you.
As long as you have compatable motor mounts, you don't need to change the frame at all. You will probably need to cut out the radiator support and relocate the radiator in front. You may also need to cut some holes for headers in the compartment walls. at least that is what was done to my dads 302. As a side note with a sideloader four speed we had to turn the trany mount around backwards, and cut holes in the brackets for the shift rods. But that shouldn't be the case with your pinto.
thank you very much for the info. what motor mounts did he use if ya don't mind me asking thanks again.
I used MustangII (74-78) V8 mounts. Almost a perfect fit. Don't worry about the frame unless your gonna circle track race or run it down the strip every weekend.
i want it to take whatever my foot gives it. and don't want to have to worry about the frame when it's run hard or i get wild with it. i like to trun up the juice and see what shakes alose.
I put in custom frame connectors from the leaf spings to the motor sits they kook like this < on one side and this > on the other.
