Title: 6500 question
Post by: dholvrsn on August 16, 2006, 08:48:32 AM
When you turn the idle screw in, does it make things leaner or richer?

Sometimes it's had to tell on these old smog carburetors.

With a Pinto carburetor, if you turn it in it makes it leaner. Turn it out makes it richer.
If you turn it out an out and out and it does start running rough you need a bigger idle
jet for it to be adjusted properly.
