Does anyone know if subframe connectors from a mustang II will work on my pinto. there are some on ebay and I am not sure if they will work.
Brad
I would think they would work, the mustang II has the same underbody as the Pinto. I'm not 100% sure....but close to it!
No they wont work. only connectors i found were from competition engineering and you have to have formed frame rails a.k.a backhalved.
Here is a pic or two of my frame connectors. They go from the back of the front frame rails to the front rear spring perches... they work great! This is how they attack at the front.
this is the rear, its not a good picture, but the homemade traction bars attach to the frame connector with a hiem joint. The frame connector has a bracket the is welded around the spring perch box.
hers another picture, i wish the pic i took of the mounting to the perch box turned out! This set up works! No body flex and no axle hop at all! I will take better pictures of this set up in the spring when its on a hoist.
Thanks, the pictures help a bunch. What size tube did you use? I planned on making my own set but when I saw thoseon ebay I thought it might save some work, but what the hey I like to fabricate stuff so we'll see what i come up with. The traction bars look cool too.

I had custom ones made and will send pics when it gets warm.
