Title: 2.3L turbo motor in pinto
Post by: seefour on August 14, 2006, 09:04:42 PM
I have just purchased a 1980 pinto with a turbo 2.3 out of a 88 thunderbird.
T04/03 turbo, 42 lb Chrysler injectors, t-5 4.11's, 26 x 8.5 et slicks, weld rims. 15 x 3. 15x7, koni drag shocks, haltek computer system, 3 inch down pipe and exhaust 65 mm throttle body. the previous owner said it ran a best of 12.80 at 105 mph in the 1/4 with out nitrous at 20 lbs boost and race gas. most of the passes with a stock computer, he just added the haltek 2 days before i purchased the car, and just enough tuning to get in running. it has a dead spot off idle or moving the excelerator.

question; nitrous on stock rods? how much will the handle 35-50 shot?
head gaskets fel pro the cheap one- how much boost/ and with 35-50 shot/
how much will the t-5 take

any help would be appreciated

I don't mean to heavily promote other sites but Turboford.net has everything answered in your post, just hit the search button many times before asking any questions over there.

I agree with CR about turfboford, but I would like to add that it would be nice if more people on this site went to the FAQ section first (not with this question, just in general).
