Title: Parts interchange
Post by: MikeSVO on August 09, 2006, 08:52:02 AM
OK, since some stuff is harder to get, have you guys begun to use parts from other Ford cars?  In my 71, I have a 78 MII rear, which is common, and a 65 Mustang radiator which was a bolt in and a MUCH better unit than the stocker (I have a 2.3 turbo in it).

But I'm wondering about other things that people have done.  I need a new master cylinder, and I'll be looking into the Ranger thing like I posted about already.  I'd just like to be able to put newer version of parts in if I can for better availablity and reliability, not to mention possibly lower cost (because of the availability thing).

I'd like to put discs on the back of the car, too.  I need a special bracket for that.  Does anyone know where to get such a thing?

Try TSM (The Streetrod Manufacturing Company) for your rear disc brake conversion, I've used them for a Jeep rear disc conversion a few years ago and they were very helpful and willing to help me with all of the questions I had about the swap. Ask for Skip.

I just bought some front brackets for my 6 cyl Mustang from www.scarebird.com.  I don't see anything on their web site but maybe they have something.  I would email them and see.
