Title: Anyone using a Ranger master cylinder?
Post by: MikeSVO on August 08, 2006, 12:05:16 PM
I got a replacement MC about 6 months ago and it leaks out the top when I stand hard on the brakes (like at the end of the track).  I can't be leaking fluids all over the place there, so I want to get something that doesn't leak from the top.  I heard about someone using a master from a later Ranger that had manual brakes.  The advantage is that the thing has a plastic reservoir and a screw-on cap, so it shouldn't leak from the top.  I don't really like using the original unit anyway, since I have bigger drums in the back, and will be getting a proportioning valve in the future.  IOW- I'm planning on beating up on this thing a bit.

I mentioned that I use a Ranger "clutch" master cylinder in a previous post.
