Title: Can i put cruising wagon panels on a 74 Wagon?
Post by: pintoguy76 on August 07, 2006, 04:05:04 AM
I know the cruising wagon didnt come out until 77, but does a 74 wagon have all the provisions needed to make cruising wagon panels bolt on or do whatever they do to install? I am buying a 74 wagon, i dont know what type of wagon it is, it just has the normal windows in it all the way around but i want a cruising wagon real bad.

As far as I know you can put those panels on any wagon.  The trick is to get all the brackets off the doner car.  There are some brackets that are spot welded for the interior side panels to attach to.  Most people do not drill out the brackets when they grab the side panels.  There are also some drip rail extenders that sometime are missed.

Yes, you can put them on a 74 wagon, all I got was the panels and no brackets of drip rails, just got the windows out and drilled some holes and put them in with small sheetmetal screws and a couple of roll's of that black gooey stuff

I may be getting myself into the same situation. What are the brackets like? Can they be fabricated in a home shop? What are the drip rail extenders like?
