Title: wiring diagram for 1979 - 3 door runabout.
Post by: 79PintoRunabout on July 31, 2006, 04:35:44 PM
Does anyone have - or can point me in a direction to get - a wiring diagram for the '79 runabout?  Thanks very much.

What wiring would be good.  Ignition?  Light system?  Stereo?

I added a Hamsar Daytime Running Light kit to the vehicle.  While the DRL's worked correctly when initially installed, the sensor that brings the lights to full power at nighttime has failed twice, so the vendor's tech folks want to see the wiring diagram.

FWIW - Ford referred me to their old parts division who then referred me to Lloyd's Automobile Literature.  Lloyds was able to provide me with the wiring diagram and apparently have shop manuals, owner's manuals and other materials available from the past 60+ years, presumably under license from Ford or other manufacturers.  They can be contacted at 800-292-2665 or online at www.lloydsautolit.com (http://www.lloydsautolit.com).

I didn't see one at the Lloyd's site.

BTW, does the fuse for the radio, heater, ashtray, wiper, etc. lights get it's power from the wiper on the rheostat in the light switch?

What do the two switches on the liftgate of the '79 wagon turn on?
