Title: Better brakes in front, mustang donor?
Post by: joecool85 on July 24, 2006, 09:11:15 AM
Ok, pintos are 4 x 108 correct?  I have searched and noticed no posts about using mustang rear ends (from 79-93 they used 4 x 108) or mustang front hubs/brakes etc.  Any reason why you couldn't use mustang stuff?

All stock pintos are 4 on 4.25", I think that is the same as 108mm. Fox body Stangs that have 4 lug are the same.

There is info out there; it says that those parts do not directly bolt to a Pinto so modification (some of it is major) will be needed to do a swap with those parts.

There are brake up-grade kits out there for Pinto front ends, depending on the year of the car. I have Granada rotors on mine and big Maverick drums on the rear (all 5 lug).

I was using this site: http://www.mrt-wheels.com/boltpatternref.html

For reference and it said that 4 x 4.25 is the same as 4 x 108.  And that the mustangs used it as well.
