Title: 1980 Pinto - Needs Help
Post by: Trent on July 23, 2006, 03:34:15 AM
Hey, Im new here, just became the owner of a 1980 ford pinto pony about 6 months ago,

My car was running fine but my transmission is taking a dive,

what i plan to do:

i want to paint it flat black with either red or lime green trim.
ideally i want to swap it with a 2.3L turbo but i dont have the money to do anything to it right now.
it will essentially be a daily driver, but i really just want to pull up next to a rice burner in a sad looking pinto then, when they arn't expecting it, leave them wondering "wow" at the starting line staring at my taillights  :fastcar: . but that cost alot of $ i think.  :-\

well, that or lift it up on a bronco 2 chassis

I have a 2.3 turbo going into a pinto of mine, but I have been told that the 2.3 EFI turbo is not a very good daily driver. Your best bet is to beef up the 2.3 you have and make it move like that!

I would have to disagree with that person about that.

car is for sale, (in the for sale section) too much work for my college student budget to handle

but man i wish i had the money to repair her. i would consider myself addicted to pintos now, where before i only looked at pre 74 tanks and early model pickups.
