Title: 1976 Pinto Station Wagon
Post by: pinto_woman on July 19, 2006, 10:15:27 PM
My husbands best friend has acquired a 1976 pinto station for me. It sat up in NJ for 2 years and was brought down here last November to NC to me. My husband is getting ready to start doing somethings to the car as soon as it cools off again. What I need is pictures of the 76 Station Wagon with the little round windows in the back. The motor has to be replaced (completely seized up) and my husband was going to put a 302 in it. Anything bigger he says that I might wrap it around a tree. Only thing that is any good on this car right now is the interior. As my good friend said we have our work cut out for us. If anybody could please email me a picture of what my car should look like. I will tell you one thing mine has the wing fender (that is what my hubby calls them) and I do not like them already. thanks for any help.

Hello pinto_woman,

The side panels with the portholes were not offered on the Pinto until the '77 model year, even though a '76 was shown with them in the Ford '76 Free Wheelin' brochure. These panels will mount on any Pinto wagon with a little work, but make sure you get all the pieces, such as the raingutter extensions that sometimes get forgotten.
