Title: Turbo swap gas tank
Post by: papintosquared on July 12, 2006, 06:56:52 PM
I have a quick question

we are currently doing a turbo swap from an 88' thunderbird TC to an 80 pinto. but what gas tanks would fit it? we were gonna pull one out of a mustang but we werent sure, so if anyone could give us a list or the specs on a gas tank it would help. Thanks

Dhilton

Hi,
Is there something wrong with the stock (existing) tank?
As far as I know there is no reason to change it, unless it`s bad or you want to go with a fuel cell...or are you looking for a larger capacity tank? Have fun with the Turbo-swap... ;D

My '74 uses a main and a return line stock in the tank as well as a vent line. I used a factory '84 Turbocoupe in-line fuel pump and it works perfect. The recall rear end protector makes a perfect mount but it's still a tight fit. Also use EFI high pressure fuel line & clamps on the pressure side for your connections.

but what about the feul injected TC's which is what we are using, should we use the TC tank and all of its stuff?

He IS talking about the EFI T/C swap. The stock Pinto tank with an inline pump, done.
