I was wondering if the 2.3 will bolt up to the 72 2.0 four speed tranny? Also what other mods will need to be done? Thanks!
If you ever want to do performance mods to your Pinto, for every $ you spend on the 2.0, you spend more on the 2.3 to have the same result.
I raced a Pinto 2.0 on asphalt circle tracks, and could easy blow off guys that had 2 times the money in their 2.3. Only 1 guy with a 2.3 could stay close to my car, but he had 3 years of frustration, and finally bought an aluminum head for $1500 plus, to make it happen.
Plus the 2.0 is easier to modify. Simple stuff that increses power. Unless your 2.0 is crap, you won't gain anything real impessive, if anything at all. Am thinking carb problems will be first, as the 2.3 has some simple carb electronic controls, that you would have to figure out how to wire it up.
Thats why a 2.3 turbo is going into mine. ;D
300 hp to the crank with very minor mods... Ya gotta love it.

I don't know much about the 2.0 motors, but I do know they had different bellhousings. So I don't think that your trans will bolt right up to a 2.3.
I already have the stepped dowls lined up to purchase... and found a car with the mount towers. ;D
