Post by: Freakzilla on December 24, 2003, 07:45:26 AM
since the 76 pinto didn't ever come with a v8, but I think I checked at Checker Auto and the Mustang 2 did, and I've read and heard they are roughly the same setup will using the engine from a old mustang 2 work if I can find one? and if it does will the tranny?? and thanks for all the quick feedback on my other question. I will post pics of my pinto this weekend, They going to be before and after pics

Any 302 will fit, you just need the proper motor mounts and headers/mustang II exhaust manifolds.  As for the tranny, a mustang II C4 will slide right in with no hammering at all, but good luck finding one, they are out there, but hard to find!
