Title: How do you do it ?
Post by: imhoppy on May 27, 2006, 11:10:24 AM
I would like to take off the the vent windows that open up behind the front seats.
My manual sez remove the latch then apply pressure on both sides to remove the hinge.
Apply pressure to WHAT! I'm thinking the are referring to the black plastic piece.
But i don't want to pry these things with a screw driver. After all they've been out doors for 28 years and they seem brittle.
It sure will easier to mask and spray with these guys out the way.

Guess it depends on if the risk is worth removing them. If they're the same as the wagon wing windows, they're held in place by a bump, or nipple-like extension of the plastic hinge, on top and bottom. And yes, they can break. If you like, I can try and get a photo off my wagon's spare window so you have a better idea what you'd be getting into.

Just remember, masking tape, an exacto knife, and a detail spray gun are you friends.  ;)
