Hi all,
I'm a newbie so please forgive me for any ettiquette errors I may make, I'll learn. I am Connie, wife of Bill (77turbopinto). I know you've heard about me and I thought since I have my own pinto, I should have my own identity. (Watch what you say about me, Bill, Not only will I see it but I can respond!) I have the orange 78 and I can't believe how attached to it I've become. Bill has done a terrific job making it as good as it looks and drives and I'm really grateful for all his effort and expertise. He spent a lot of time on my car when I know he'd rather be working on his own. I can't wait to meet other Pinto enthusiasts at Carlisle and check out all the other cars. I know I'll get some great ideas (for Bill) to do to my car.

It"s great to hear of a wife that not only supports her husbands love of Pintos but shares in it as well.
My wife not only wont drive my Pinto she will not even get in it. She hates Pintos so much she has turned most of our children against them too.
needless to say I will be making the trip to Carlisle by my self.
Joe
I know when to keep quiet.

Joe,
I'm sorry to hear that your wife does not share your love for Pintos or cars in general. We hear that same story a lot. You have to look on the bright side though. You don't have to compete for parts and you won't get pressure to put all the NOS parts on HER car cuz chicks love the shiny stuff. Bill had to put a standard in the turbo car to keep me from driving it (I have a bad knee and it is too weak to operate the non-hydraulic clutch more than a couple times). While he was on line talking about Pinto's, I was out cruising around in his. It's not as bad as it sounds, he agreed to keep his an automatic until mine was road ready. As much as I like my car being mostly stock, more power would be nice and I'm always whining for a turbo and a stereo and custom this and high performance that and I stopped cooking and cleaning so I could go to cruise nights so don't envy Bill. He's got it rough having a gearhead wife.

Thanks I never thought of it like that.
either way, my wife and my pinto are both keepers
Joe
Welcome, nice to finally meet you! It's also nice to see another owner of the 78'clan!

BGP ;D :D ;) :) ::)
Great to see another wife fully understand/support their husband in the Pinto world! My wife is VERY supportive with my Pinto, she knows whats done to the engine, what tranny i have, gears ect. I love seeing her answer questions at car shows and local cruises. I'm building my third engine in 4 years....she's a keeper!
I really think my wife supports my hobby because she would rather I chase parts than other things ::) ...Just joking (I think). She bought me an engine hoist when I got my this Pinto.

Mark me in the list of those who love Pinto's, wife doesn't so much. Of course, I picked her up in it our first date, when it was in primer. That was 16 years ago ::)
Now she tolerates that I'm rebuilding my poor wagon and that I'm buying ebay parts and yacking about modifications and such. Going the 2.5 turbo, 5-speed route because it's more than an old rustbucket to me and deserves a makeover. The wife understands that, plus it keeps me out of the bars and strip clubs (most of the time).
Welcome to the club Connie!
Hi Connie and walcome aboard.Nice little Pinto you got there.HOWEVER-----now it's time for the TURBO,so tell Bill he isn't through yet.Hope you guys have a great time at Carlisle.I know your car will be a hit.Curtis

I TOO HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT PARTNER, WE PUT BOTH NAMES ON THE WINDOW SHEET @ CAR SHOWS AND WE TAKE TURNS GOING UP FOR THE TROPHY. I KEEP IT DETAILED, SHE KEEPS ME CALMED DOWN, LIKE TODAY WHEN IT WOULD'T START, BATTERIES SHOULD LAST LONGER THEN 7 YEARS..... ;)WE HAVE OUR FIRST CAR SHOW TOMORROW,TAKING BOTH CARS..I GUESS AFTER 33 YEARS SHE'LL KEEP ME! ;DDOING THINGS TOGETHER IS GREAT...WELCOME TO THE :7: :8: CLUB  SKY
My interesting twist is that I, the wife, am the pinto fanatic/nut and it's my husband who totally supports me in this interest.
