So here it tis.... My "new" 72 pinto. its a 4 speed with the 1.6. Can anyone tell me if that stripe is original?? I like it. I havent had a chance to clean it but had the TRX wheels in storage, they are from my 84 coupe i bought in 91. Like many have done, i want to put a turbo coupe drive train in it, including the disc rear. I am looking for help with going to discs up front. i want to stay 4 lug as i have many sets of late model stang wheels laying around. Oh, it has a fold down back seat as well, are they common?
I need a front bumper with brackets, a grill, and maybe the valance if anyone has them for sale.

Nice TRX wheels. I wonder if you can still find tires for those wheels ( they are metric). I think Ferrari may still use that size.
:welcome:
I don`t think I`ve seen a stripe like that before...like it though...and love that orange! Of course I`m partial to it...nice ride...Welcome aboard!!!

Thansk guys. the tires are avail but are about $200 each!!!!! i'll pass. they hold air so they are on it. The stripe is paint and not a stiker, has the same deal running between the tail lights. I am an orange fan also, i couldnt have asked for a better color combo!

Looks like the 71-72 Mach1 stripes... I never seen them on a pinto... but it does look good...
lets us know what ya find out...
Whats so special about the trx wheels?
I know Ive seen a pinto with stripes like that on the side. But I cant remember where.
Last year I bought a set of those wheel's, spent hours trying to clean them up only to find out the metric tire were going to cost about $180.00 for 1 stinkin tire. Needless to say the neighbor kid wanted them bad, so now there sittin in his yard and not mine. ::)

Its a metric size wheel that requires a tire that is VERY expensive. BTW, I had a set on my 1979 Turbo RS Capri and striped all the clear coat off and then polished the aluminum. They looked real good that way.
nothing is special abou tthem really, except the tires :-) i stripped and polished them in 91, when the tires werent safe to use anymore they were stored, in 91. i just hosed them off put some air in and threw them on the car so i could roll it around. i have thought about getting them machined down to a 15 inch size (they are 15.3 now) but havent got around to it....

I believe I remember seeing that stripe kit in a catalog of Pinto parts and accessories back in the 70s, but cannot remember if it was Ford or aftermarket!
I thought i saw it in a catalog also but I cant remember which one.
it was an option called the "boss" package it commonly came with the hot pants kit. go www.geocities.com/bosspintopage to see the pictures of my buddys hot pants boss pinto
That's cool...
Where do i get a set of those ground fx???????????
i heard that pintony has a set but we have been talking about it and we are not sure if the kit is the exactly the same as the one on the green car. it is close though.
