What a treat!
Original74's Geraldine had the pleasure of meeting Sagesunrise's Martha Splatterhead. Sagesunrise did something I bet hasn't been done in 20 years, drove her Pinto on a 9 day 6000 mile road trip. Top that!
Tiffany, David and Jake pulled into Tulsa Saturday evening, pausing for a steak dinner and a couple hours of Pinto talk with Dave and CJ.
It was a pleasure to meet them and socialize for a couple of hours before they headed out for the last 90 miles of their journey.
Quite a treat for Dave to catch 2 fellow Pinto buddies in less than a month with a previous visit by Pintony and Ben as they traveled through Tulsa on their safe round trip to CA earlier in April.
There haven't been three Pinto's on the same driveway in the last 20 years in probably a five state area! I am wondering what my neighbors might be thinking....you might be a redneck if.... :)
Here are a few more pics...
See Pinto's can travel great distance's.Both cars look great.Hope to see both of them next year.
Harley,
I will be making it to Carlisle in early June. Looking forward to meeting up with what I hope will be the biggest Pinto gathering since new car lots in the '70's.
Dave
Dave,
How cool! Thanks for taking these pics and posting them here. Martha looks clean! Wow, did you edit the pics before posting? I don't see all of the bug splatter on her... ;) Not bad for nearly 3000 miles of driving.
David and I enjoyed your hospitality very much. It was such a pleasure meeting you and your wife. The pintos look great, and ARE great!!! Thank you again and I hope we can return the hospitality someday.
Although I won't be making it to Carlisle this year, our trip to Oklahoma has made me feel a little more confident in Martha's reliability. I had no problems at all during the round trip. One learning experience; however, and that was that the jets perform differently at high altitudes due to the thinner air, thus the fuel/air mixture will need adjusting. I found that very interesting and was quite pleased to learn this little tidbit. I started noticing a flat spot in the carb on the way over the rockies in Wyoming. A gentleman saw me tinkering with the carb and informed me of the jet issue. Bounced it off my dad (my car mentor) and he said "Yep!". Had a lot of people inquire about the car. Of course, with smiles on their faces! And that's the way it should be.
You Guys!
This is great, 2 Pintos meeting in the 'day'...
Looks like Dave's house is becoming a real FordPinto.com 'pitstop' when you are traveling out that way... We need an official PCCA plaque on Dave house we all can shoot our cameras at, something like 'been there done that'...
Both Pintos are real sweet!

Sure they can! always could for that matter. Plenty of times in the 80's when all I owned would fit in a Pinto wagon, an I'd just head across country....rambled coast to coast many times in many diff Pinto's One(a brown 74 runabout canadian built at that) I ran from Boise Idaho down here to Amarillo, had my mom n dad w/ me + my wife an baby daughter (this was in 1987) pulled a 6x14 U-haul trailer loaded down, dropped my folks off here then I went on to North Dakota w/ Pinto and 75% of stuff in the U-haul. Worst adevnture on the road in any of my Pinto's back then was on that trip....muffler fell off in South Dakota. If that's the worst it ever gets, then I'll always trust these cars...matter of fact I soon want to hunt one down for....ME. ;D
Kinda miss the Pinto days, minus all the traveling but anyway these have always been very dependable cars for me, anyone that knocks them ...I'm quick to speak up even to this day! ;D
Scott,
What an idea! I do enjoy being about the most centrally located member. I will get to work on something to hang on the wall, may shout at you for some artwork. My wife does computer graphics so I will put her to work...again.
I was in San Diego last fall and drove to Brad's house (was actually led to Brad's house, he graciously drove out about a mile and found the Okie's who couldn't navigate CA roads) and met him and his black Pangra. I wasn't in my Pinto though!
My home is welcome to anyone traveling anywhere in the area. I will extend the same offer to anyone as I have for Pintony and Sagesunrise...dinner is on me!
Looking forward to Carlisle!
Dave
