Title: 73 Wagon 2.0 4 Speed
Post by: Dealford on April 24, 2006, 09:12:53 PM
Long in the tooth pretty much describes this car.
Both front floor pans have been patched poorly. Both rear wheel well & floor pans need work.
Both doors have holes in them. Also, the arm rests (blue) need to be replaced.
The front seats have old covers on them hiding the rips in the original upolstery. The carpets are all there, but are filthy.
General bodywork is needed.
All the glass is good enough.
The engine does smoke a bit & REALLY needs tuning.
I haven't pulled the wheels off yet to check the brakes, but expect to spend money there too.
I think I'll see how well it runs with new plugs etc. before I commit to fixing the rest. Hopefully some engine honey and an oil change  will eliminate the smoke.
The steering feels OK, but I haven't taken the car out on the road yet.

Maybe you could trade this one for a cleaner one from one of the racers - they would get something to wreck and you would get something that wouldn't take so much work.

That sounds like a reasonable idea gentlegiant.
OK. Are there any racers around Toronto that would like to trade?
Delivery isn't a problem locally. Elsewhere, I'd have to borrow the flatbed & negotiate over fuel.
