On thursday the headgasket went on the turbo pinto. 48 hours later (not all spent on the car), a bunch of parts and a few band-aids it is back on the road. Strange noise it made, sounded like a cam follower bouncing around in it, but it was only the gasket. The gasket now has a 1/2" notch cut between 1 and 2. While I was in there I noticed that the valves in #3 had some evidence of exrta heat, but not too bad, and it had good comp. in that one before the head was pulled, so I changed the injector for it and did all the o-rings on the rest of them.

Took it out this evening. Seems to run much smoother than it did before the gasket went, I suspect the injector might be helping. I need to re-check the plugs and re-set the timing, but she seems ready to go (for now).
I will get a pic of the gasket.

Bill,If you're not using torque to yield head head bolts,be sure and retorque the head after several complete heat cycles.Put Paul back to work.
I do all the light stuff myself, but Paul is very handy when the extra body is needed. I spend time at his place too working on his toys, works out very well.
Taking the pinto out today to go see some family.
I have heard so much from both sides of the re-torque issue. I think I need to re-do the valve cover gasket, so I might do it. What is the correct way to do it, I have heard many opinions on this, but what is yours?
