does anyone know if 89 mustang gt rotors will fit a 79 pinto V6 spindle?

Yes, No.

All the later pinto spindles are the same, and the only "big" rotors that can be "directly" installed (with minor tweeking and removal of the dust sheild)are the 11" ones from a granada.
