Title: Rough Idle

ive heard is normal to have a rough idling pinto but mines to the point of stalling at a stop light and im not sure why any ideas thx yall

Have you done anything under the hood latley?  I would start by checking all vacuum connections.  Start the car up and listen under hood.  A bad vacuum leak will pratically jump right out at you.

distrubutor timing, float adjustments, idle mixture, egr? is there still emission control parts hooked up to the engine? my dad's old truck had a broken diaphram in the carbon can, and the engine's vacuum filled the float chamber with that black gravel stuff.

Which year? Which engine? Which transmission? Stock? Modified?
