will a tranny off a 2.3 bolt up to a 2.8?
I have 2 good trannys for a 2.3, a 4 speed manual and an overdrive auto i wana do something with. maby i should just switch to a 2.3
If I remember correctly, the bellhousings are different. the top two holes on the bellhousing are closer on the 2300 and farther apart on the 2800.
krazi
The standard trans for the 4-cyl bolts on going through from the inside of the bellhousing into the transmiaaion. Some Capri 2.6L/2.8L V6 bellhousings may accomodate this configuration. You might try going this route. The V6 in the Mstg II bolted from the outside into the bellhousing, as most other Ford products do, and the bolt pattern is significantly different. A C-4 auto will bolt easily to the 2.8 using the Pinto/Mstg II 2.8 C-4 bellhousing. As far as any AODs go, you may want to check if any of the Ranger/Bronco II transmissions would work for you.
sounds like what i have laying arroud wont work, thanks for the input though, i believe my motors compression is shot anyway and i think i rather find somehting else than put any money in the 2.8, im thinkin 2.3 or maby a v8 swap, i have a complete HO EFI 5.0 setup, how cool would that be? id probably have to fabricate a shorter upper intake though
