Hello Everyone!
I'm new to this community and it looks like it's going to be alot of fun here.I'm 15 years old and a freshman in high school.I've been messing around with anything that runs since I could pick up my first wrench. My dad always kept something around to mess with and my grandad used to drive his own dump truck. There was always something to work on around my place. Now that my parents are divorced,I got my dad's side of the garage to myself. It seems like ever since he moved out, there's always been a little toy of mine in there. The only thing is,the older I got,it seemed like the bigger my toys got lol !Anyway,I guess that's just human nature, especially for us men.I sell alot of stuff on eBay,so that's my main source of income.I've got lots of old vehicle parts, electronics, and mostly junk that I just simply need to get out of my way so I can have the money to start on a new project.3 years ago,I got my first vehicle. It was a 1953 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup.I worked on it all that I could. Finally,I give up on it because it was going to take too much time and money to finish it.Then,I got a 1977 Datsun 620P Pickup, then a 1986 Buick Regal,a Datsun 280Z,a 1994 Ford Escort LX,a 1988 Ford Mustang 5.0L LX,a 1992 Ford Ranger, and then a 1977 Ford F-100 Custom Pickup.I think that covers it lol.I still own the Ranger and the F-100.I really seem to like those 1977's lol!Anyway,I guess that just shows how much I like to piddle.
Now,I'm working on getting a Ford Pinto. My uncle has one with the original 2.0L and a 4 speed transmission in original condition. It doesn't have alot of rust and it runs decently. He priced it to me last night for $150.Also,I've got that old F-100 that I took a 302 out of.You see what I'm getting at :D !?Anyway,I think that I'm going to get that Pinto this Sunday, and I'll start fixing it up.I can't remember if it's a 1973 or a 1974.It's a 2 door Runabout.
Anyway,I'm sorry that this is so long.I just wanted to introduce myself and tell everyone Hello and Happy Thanksgiving.Have a safe and happy holiday.
By the way,my name is Jacob, but everyone that I know calls me Nightrain.Yeah,I guess they got it from Guns N' Roses..I'm a big fan of their's :D .

Welcome to the site, looks like youv'e got your work cut out for ya then....302 Pinto! Jeff
First off, welcome!
I want to compliment you on your post. It's good to know that there are still a few "youngsters" that can actually type and spell correctly, and don't resort to abbreviations like "u" and "r".
I think you will find The Pinto to be a worthwhile project. With proper maintenance, they will almost last forever (mine now has 317,000 miles), and they are becoming somewhat of a rare breed anymore, since the last one was made over 23 years ago. People turn and look at one now, unlike the common Hondas and Nissans.
Compared to my wife's Saturn, my Pinto is louder, rougher riding, gets worse mileage, doesn't handle as well, and is generally more rude overall, but it is just more fun to drive!
Thanks 78pinto and straw boss.I think that I'm going to like it here too.Where can I get parts for my Pinto when I get it?I know that parts for these are becoming more and more obsolite. If someone could lead me in the right direction,I would be greatful.
