Title: Better days
Post by: workhorse on March 19, 2006, 03:07:16 PM
Hey everyone.  I recently found this site during my search for a pinto wagon that I can rebuild and duplicate the one pictured.  Not sure if the picture will turn out on this posting.  Anyhow, my father ordered this 76 for me when I was only 15.  Before turning it over to me, he lowered the front 2 inches and treated it to the perfect wheel & tire combo, installed a tach, hurst shifter, hooker header with dual exhaust, 4.11 gears and Lakewood 3 way adjustable traction bars.  After I had it for about 2 years, I went hard core and sent the head to EICO for porting & a cam.  This car was legendary in the Phoenix street scene and I paid for my first 2 years of college with the money I won from chumps that did not understand the concept of power to weight ratios and good traction.  Unfortunately I was forced to sell the car after my third offense of street racing.  I have since built a 65 Ford Falcon pro-street that I race regularly at Speedworld Motorplex in Whittman Arizona.  My goal is to replicate my 76 wagon for use as a street-rod daily driver.
