I have a now stock 1980 66000 original miled 2.3/auto, all I have done is get it running and add a set of autometer phantom guages to the dash in front of the passenger seat above the glove box and also new rear springs. I am wondering if any of you guys have side pipes on your ponys, whether it be both sides or one side functional.also i have heard that mustang II air shocks will fit on the back, is this true or not. thank you in advance
Well, anything can fit given enough time and money (and a big hammer).
The air shock answer is no, not directly, unless you use the (lower) shock mount plates from the MII with the MII shocks, then yes.
I don't think MII's came from ford with air shocks, but if a company makes them for the MII, then they should fit a pinto with the mentioned plates.
Keep in mind that if you are trying to "lift" the rear of a pinto with air shocks, that the stock shocks are set to counter torque with one in front and one behind the axle. This could have an adverse effect on the handling of the car by pre-loading the springs in opposite directions.

Im thinking that any side pipes would probably get busted up over the first speed bump.
yes but on a v8 pinto. can get them any where probly 50 inch
and ford type air shocks will fit been there did that
but remember this is tin and possible to much extra force could rip out the shock pockets---ok its happened before especialy if you hit a serious pot hole.
