Yes I have a 80 pinto with the 2.3 motor.....I found a red wire with a blue plug that looks like it plugs to a flat piece of metal....it runs in between the carb and valve cover from the back towards the front....does anyone know where it might go?????
thx
i just realized i put from back to front...it actually runs from the front of the car and gos in between the carb and valve cover and is in a cluster of wires.....i need this asap....later
I'd like to know this too as I got the same thing that seems to go to nowhere. Maybe it goes to the idle control solenoid?
Maybe it is a pre-wired plug if the car had A/C for the idle-up solenoid?? :what:
could be? ???
It's probobly the wire for the electric choke, though the plug for that is usaly white.
Its for the idle (anti-diesel) solenoid, and/or the a/c idle up solenoid if you have ac. Both are from the same source- hot in Run only i believe.
Lugnut is correct its for A.C.I have the two on my 78. I was worried that if the smog guy saw 2 wires unhooked he'd give my pony the hook.
