My son has a 1980 2.3/c4, threw the timing belt and broke a piston rod. I've been looking for a rebuild kit for this engine and can only find 1 on ebay. Does anyone know where to get a complete kit for the rebuild? Most sources I've checked require much more knowlegde than I have to pick out pistons, cam, valves etc... all seperate.
Or, I found a rebuilt 2.3 (oem specs) for 1100 w/ 3yr warranty.
hello i bought my rebuild kit at jc whitney and it comes with all the the nesscery stuff and piston heads thats it or at napa online i know you could buy a master rebuild kit for about 500 dollars hope this helps

Hey Hoots, Go for the rebuilt one if your not looking to build a street racer. It will save you time, money and agrivation. At least that's mt opinion. Some of the other guys might see it differently. Also on a side note, could you send me some pics of that nice looking silver wagon you got there? Thanks...Rob
Hey Rob,
Check this topic for photos of HOOTS wagon.

Thanks Pintony ;D
I bet the rod went first, but sorry it happened.

Hey Hoots, Justwanted say I saw the pics in the "your project" forum. That is a sweet little wagon you got there. Any idea where to get another one of those frint air dams? Very nice job!...Rob
Looks like a 77 C-wagon front spoiler to me????
The spoiler is OEM 74-78 wagon, got it from Green sales. As a matter of fact I have a spare, they were an investment. Also had to fab the mounting hardware.
Are you looking to part with it?....Rob
If I get what I paid for it, yeah. 220.00 + shipping.
The new engine has arrived, the swap will take place next week. Can't express how anxious my son is, he's been missing his 'baby'.
Still not sure what carb to use, is the Holley 350CFM too much?
