when a motor is it really nessicary to fill the oil holes on the crankshaft with oil after i put the pan on and started to put it back to gether i read the book is this step nessicary if i forget it will i fry a brand new 600 dollar engine ? thanks for the help a head of time

Hello,
NO just prime the system by rotating the countershaft untill oil come up to the top of the head.
You can also use an old dist. shaft to spin the oil up.

Is it ok to just use assembly lube on the on the crank shaft and rods. Ive never primed the system I just poor oil over the crank and all the internals after i assemble them with good assembly lube.
Ive never had any problems and we turn our 2.3 consistently at 8500 rpm. Is this process ok or what?
