A friend of mine who junks cars all the time just got a 88 turbocoupe that he's gonna jumk nxt week. I need to know what all i need from the car. I know their are many posts on this but i was hoping if i could get one grocery list with everypart i need. I can have whatever i need so please feel free to tell me whatever you think i need. I already knoe i need the engine, tranny (5speed) computer and wiring but what else?
Thanks

speedo cable, throttle linkage-cable?
Hell just cut the car at the W/S and keep the rest to be sure.
OH.. and you could install that nasty 8.8 posi too.
Correct me if I am wrong. But the 88 has the hydralic clutch. Unless you are going to convert your pinto to a hydralic setup you will need a 86 and later bellhousing to use the Pinto stock clutch cable.

AFAIK, the 87/88 t/c's were the only ones to have the hyd. system.
Have you looked in the FAQ section??????
Bill
Bill,
Sure did but I don't remember anything in there saying the T-bird was only a hydralic system. I could have missed it though. Too my knowledge my bellhousing came from an 86. Up to that point they were cable operated. In 87 went to the hydralic setup. This is where I got the info and it was confirmed from one other webpage.

I did see that info somewhere in there. The 87/88 t/c's are hyd., all other 2.3 manual trannies in t-birds and stangs are cable. I don't know about other cars or rangers.
Some of the 4spd.'s have a bell that will interchange with the t-5. I know, I have one, and it is a straight pull, not the one with the bellcrank. The one I have was marked "79 mustang" on it in yellow, maybe from a JY; this tranny was in an old mini-stock that was given to me.
It looks like a stock 86 cable will interchange with the pinto one, it is just much longer.
Bill
thanks for all the help. I didn't even realize it was a hyd. clutch. Looks like to the junkyard i go. What about wiring? There is a switch on the dash for premium or reg. fuel, do i need it. Is a c4 yoke the same as a t-5? Oh and here is the car its goin in. Iswapped in an 8 inch and put granada rotors on hte front. The wheels are from a 99 gt mustang. What do ya think?
