Hello Dusty,
Yes any Pinto speedo cable should work with the C4 or 4speed hummer tranny.
Pinto speedo cable will not work with T-5.

About 80 bones...OUCH

I know this has came up before but why is this? Mine worked perfect once I removed the electronic speed sensor and used the stock 4 speed insert.

Yeah, mine too.Bolted right in with no problems and works great.
CHEAPRACER & turbo toy,
Must be running the tranny from a Merkur. ;D
Maybe the late Pinto had a longer cable.
Lets hear more about this...

Pintony,My Pinto is a 1980 sedan that originally came with a four speed. My T5 is out of my 88 Turbo Coupe.I have a 76 Pinto parts car that I can check the length of the speedo cable.Would be interesting to see what year they may have changed the length of them.
Hello turbo toy,
I'm using the mustang trans.
I wonder if that is the difference????
From Pintony
I'm also using the '88 turbo coupe trans & stock '74 cable. I also used the t-5 speedo gear installed on the 4 speed insert to match the turbo coupes 3:55 gears which I also used in my 8 inch, things just worked out too perfect. ;D
The cable wasnt long enough on my 79 wagon with the 4 speed to 88 t-bird t-5 swap.
I'll check the 78 wagon with V6 and auto.

I do not think the Pinto came with a speed sensor.
