Hello all!
I just bought a Powder Blue '76 Pinto with the 2.3 and auto transmission, 76,000 miles.
During high school and little after, I rode around in a '76 with my drummer.
Despite being a Chevy guy all my life, I decided to get a Pinto instead of a Chevy Vega.
Plans may include a T-Bird or Merkur turbo engine, but I may just leave it alone.
Cool site, and I look forward to being part of the community.
Cheers,
Mike
Welcome !!! I too, being a Chevy guy know where you are coming from. The little car has a way of growing on you. I had a Vega for my first car, not really bad, just not refined. Anyhow, welcome to the community, and to "our" own little world.
Welcome, I am in the middle of putting a turbo coupe motor in my 76. Found everything I need to know here. Great site and great bunch of people.
Hey Powderblue...welcome to the club! Mine is a '78 with 27,000 original miles. It's in storage now; great shape. New tires will get put on this spring/summer. Where did you get yours? I got mine on ebay last August and had it shipped from Penn. to MN.
A freind of mine was getting his oil changed, and the manager had it out back.
My friend was going to buy it for his son, but NNNOOOOO, it wasn't cool enough.
It's mine now ! ! ;D
nice, where you from,? we at least i like to know pinto owners locations. sometimes you could just be around the corner. give alittle info . :) pintok
long time to answer, but here it goes.
We are in a little town called Edgewood, 60 miles (not far enough) from Dallas.
Drive it on down to Dallas sometime and come for a visit with his "big brother" (my '76 wagon). Is yours a Texas car? Where did you find it? Have you done a VIN search to check the history?
Chris
There is something so great about a baby blue pinto:
