I wish someone would reply to Don's Question, I also am planning to try a shoehorn a new Essex V-6 (3.8) engine and a T-5 into my tired 79.
There was a thread discussing putting a SHO V-6 in one.

i saw a pinto years ago with a 3.8 out of a mustang one time. the guy that did it swore he'd never do it again. i think this might fall under. where there is a will there is a way.

i take it you have all the parts and a running motor from another 75 to 79 v6 pinto.just asking cause this will be my second conversion into a 71-74 model stationwagon . honestly i feel its easy enough.

I got a 79 Bobcat wagon that I am going to V6 next winter. Been wanting to do it so I am. If you get yours done before I get mine let me know.
