As some of you know my Rallye was hit in the left quarter,the damage is not bad.The problem is the insurance company wants to total the car and give me a salvage title.This means the value of the car goes down by 2/3rds.What i need from all of you with nice looking Pintos ,is to post a picture of your cars and list what they are worth.I need to give these to the insurance company.I know my Rallye is worth more than they are willing to give me.Your help will be appreciated.Thanks Pintoman[Harley].

Ask the insurance company if they need to transfer the title.
Be specific! Most of the time it is just a mater of the CarFAX report.
If need be I can make you a written statemant and send to your insurance company.
All they see is numbers on computer.

I'm not sure what kind of response I'll get, but here goes. forget the insurance company, I think you might be able to get parts to repair your car through the help of our useful and friendly site. is that a sedan or hatchback? is it easy to remove this section? what year? I'm parting my '79 sedan, and I'd be willing to sell or trade something so you could repair your crumpled tin. I'm not sure what it's worth, and I don't have the tools to remove the quarters. I hope I didn't anger anyone.

I finally settled with the insurance company.I get to keep my title with enough money to get the Rallye fixed.It will be at Carlisle looking like it should.

I'm glad you got it worked out, the damage did not look bad at all...
I had a dude in a Taurus take out the rear quarter on my Green 72 Runabout about 1 1/2 year ago. Did LOTS of damage. I have a policy with Auto Collectors Insurance & have an Agreed value on all my pintos. They paid $3900 to get her fixed. Had to find a donor runabout for the entire rear clip & they repainted the whole car for me. Got to keep the donor car for other parts as well.
The hardest part was finding a shop to work on her, most of them did not want to TOUCH a car that was this old...
