I'm using an electric fuel pump, and don't need to run the mechanical fuel pump on my 2.0, is there more to deleting it than pulling the pump off and making a block off plate? I can't tell by any of my manuals if there is more that needs to be considered.
Thanks for any insight to a probably dumb question.
Helo Bob55,
On the 2.0 Ford engine"1971-74" U.S. Version...
You need to remove the drive dowl "Or Fuel Pump Push Rod" too.
But that is about it.
NOTE the stock pump is small so put it in a baggie with the pushrod "Dowl" and put it back in the trunk W/ a 13mm wrench.
Might save you from walking someday if the Electric pump fails??
Hello Pintony,
Thanks for the quick reply, and a very good suggestion on the stock pump! I hadn't even considered that....
Bob, on page two in the "73 Pangra Project" topic near the bottom you will see a pic of my home made fuel block off. Its just a piece of 1/4 aluminum.
