The question is does anyone know the part number or where I can get a new one for a 79 Bobcat, finely getting around to fix this car so I can sell it. Thanks for the help D.D.

If you are talking about the round one that connects near the rack, then there is a universal one available in most auto parts stores.  It is commonly known as a "rag joint", at least around here.  They are kind of challenging to install if you have never done one.  It is easier to loosen up the main mounting bolt to the rack then remove the shaft.  They are made to go on the racks shaft one way by the way it is splined.  Hope it helps.
