Title: Electric speedometer adaptor for 4-speed manual trans
Post by: jimdaug on December 29, 2005, 12:05:13 AM
Hi, I'm a newbie.  I am trying to find information about the 4-speed manual that came with the 2.0L L4.  I am working on my parents kit car that uses a pinto chasis and drivetrain and I want to switch the gauges to electric.  I can't figure out which adaptor will work though because none of the sites offer years.  They mention early model ford push-on type adaptors or GM Screw-on adaptors, but then thay say that either type could possibly work on either make.  I haven't jacked the car up to look at the transmission yet, but if someone knows if the original manual transmissions had a push-in speedo cable it would save me some trouble.  Or if someone has switched their speedo to an electric model I would like to know how it went. Finally if anyone knows where to find info on the 4-speed manual tranny that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the time and help you can offer.
