I cant explain it, but my pinto makes alot of suspension noise. I think it might be normal but im not sure. I cant explain how it sounds really, but both the pintos ive had made this noise. It only happens when hitting a bump or something. Nothing while turning or anything like that. I did notice that it was wearing the tread off at the side on one tire, but that may have been because i drove it for a while after i replaced the outter tie rod ends without getting an alignment. I just recently replaced that tire so i will see. If it is eating on the tire, its just on one side and its very slow...the only reason you'd know it wasnt normal tire wear is because its on the edge only. Im pretty sure it was just due to the alignment tho. If this is normal please let me know, if not, can somone pleeease tell me whats wrong? :) I dont expect it to be a luxury car, but i often wonder if the noise is really normal or not. My doors rattle alot too, and make alot of noise when you push the button to open the door, and again when the door closes, and while on the highway they kinda bounce up and down some. The doors (or atleast the bouncing) may be due to needing hinge pins and bushings maybe? Anyone know the "HELP" part number i need for new hinge pins and bushings? Thanks ahead of time!
check your ball joints to be sure they are not loose (you don't want them coming apart at speed) second i would sheck for bushings in the strut bar, if these are worn out or missing they can make alot of noise.
