im not sure what it is but my truck does it to. i lose alot of power going up a hill and the proplem gets alot worse in the cold. im wounding does it sound like its gunna die when going up hill? can anyone can help us find the proplem my truck also has alot of trouple getting up to speed im not sure what it is i think it could be the carb but im not sure any help will be great thx
Are you sure that it isn't the transmission? Check the tranny oil, if it only happens while going up a hill then the oil might just be going to the back of the tranny causing it to slip.
I asume that you are talking about a 2.3L Pinto motor.
Could very well be that the timing belt has jumped a notch or two.
That would cause it to pop out the exhaust or backfire out the carb and loose power.
Yeah, sounds like it could be a timing belt.
