What happened to almost 1500 members?>??/
Most of them were registered once & never came back, no post no data & more than 11 Months since last login,
Needed to clean up the database during the transition,
Maybe the didn't come back due to inactivity of the board.I see lots of post's that never get any attention. We have new members that post to say hello and no one even responds to them.I was asked to post pictures of my car.I posted them and they have been looked at more than 80 times and I haven't had even one response. So why should they bother?I like this site and look forward to meeting our members, but maybe we need to take a close look at our self.I don't mean to anger anyone, but this is one of the things I have observed.Curtis
I miss some things becuase of the read new posts since last visit link. I log on and get to browse a couple, and the phone rings and i have to disconnect. then when i log back on I lose all the new posts since last visit. Then i have to peruse the listings one by one to find what i missed, and most of the time, i dont have the time to go looking for the new posts.

I agree... I'm pretty new to the site, and I must admit I don't know all that much about cars... but since my grandfather gave me his '80 I'm full of questions and the "Overhaul Excitement" This is my first car that I get to work on and it's a learning experience... And I'm sure like everyone else when I first saw her, I feel in love and I want to do everything I can to make her Car Show worthy... Pinto's have gotten allot of crap over the years with the safety scandal and living in the shadow of the Mustang. This is really the only site that dedicates itself to the Pinto, and I stumbled upon it by just typing in FordPinto in my address bar looking for information, I'm sure just like many other newcomers. Allot of long time members just like to see what people have done... but if we don't help the newbie's... there wont be anything to see later on.. That's just my opinion, and I thank everyone who has helped me with my stupid questions, because that's what's needed to help in the process of getting these little gems off cinderblocks.
Thanks,
Travis
Does fordpinto.com send out any kind of newsletter? Maybe a few of us could put our heads together and put one together or maybe even an Emagazine with show coverage, featured cars and tech articles. we could even get some companies to place ads and get some of thes hard to find parts made (weatherstripping) I don't know, it's just a thought. I know I'm new pinto owner but I have relied on this site since 99 for updates in the Pinto (and Bobcat) world. Just some thoughts. Whatch think?...ROb
Excellent Idea..
Run with it... Let us know how to help,
As soon as I get back from Australia at the end of April, I will look into starting this project. If I do this I won't be able to do it alone. I will need others to get involved with the project. I will need some of the members to write tech articles and LOTS of pictures! We will also need to contact venders and manufacturers to place ads. This will be fun (I Hope) ??? 8) :fastcar:
Sounds like a great idea! I'm in the process of tearing down a turbo t-bird motor for rebuild and am taking pictures as I go. I am very short on time and money so I wouldn't be able to meet any deadlines, but maybe I can contribute something occasionally (after someone else proof-reads it!).
Have you thought about compiling info from these threads? Tons of good info here, and with a little cleaning up would make excellent article material, assuming you have permission from the author(s) and this site.
