hello,just bought a 74 pinto ,no a/c has water comming in to the heater comp /vent through the outside air hole,.the heater was done in 91,is something missing ? the compression gasket is there but getting wet, acting like a catch basen,dont know what to do to stop it HELP,should I close up the outside air inlet? comming out tommorow,thanks .....

Hello,thanks for the welcome its a 74 with 33 k miles white /tan 2.0 4 speed. I thinkd there was alot of dirt under the cowelmaybe it built up over the hole to make it ct like a man hole,well wee later ,Frank.
just took out the heater the air inlet was cirled with rust/leaves and found several holes in the steel, so sealing and fixing the rust should do ,alot od calking.
