Title: Info on mounting alternator when swapping to power steering
Post by: pintoguy76 on November 22, 2005, 02:49:26 PM
I am putting power steering on my 76 pinto.  I grabbed the setup off on Ernies 1980 pinto that he parted out. I think i am still missing a bracket tho. I did not realize that the power steering pump mounts under the alternator and takes place of the lower alternator bracket. There is another bracket on the pump that it used to tighten the alternator with, but there is no bracket to mount the lower alternator with. Can somone take a picture of this setup for me? And give me any info they know........maybe i am not understanding this right. lol. thanks guys.

The parts to the right of the pump are all related to the alternator.  I hope it helps.....

The parts were off a 79 that I parted out a few years back.
