Title: BRAKES!!
Post by: whitepony on November 21, 2005, 10:56:47 AM
Whitepony with a problem... My brake lights aren't working because of the gadget near the brake lever. It's black and it keeps finding it's way down instead of staying what I think it should be doing, resting horizontal. I think it's called the brake switch. HELP!!

                                                        prayn' for advice- Whitepony

I see what your talkin about, but explain down. does it pivot down? or does it just fall down? if it pivots, then there is a clip missing or something, if it falls, the clip isnt tight enough. hope that helps.  ;)

Ok. This is what i mean...    There is the brake switch with a few parts: a black, hallow cylinder, and a white washer thing including the clip or clamp. I think it's all there. I'll keep pushing the brake switch up so it will activate the brake lights, but after I press on the brake the switch will move back(towards the engine). I pull the switch towards me. Maybe I can send some pictures of what I'm talkin about....

                                                                       THank you all!!!!!

Good news! No I didn't save a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Gieco... But I did get the brake lights working! Not only that but I got the oil to stop leaking!!! PTL!

DOOOOHHHH!! The oil leak started again!!! I thought it was the oil cynding unit but it might be the rear main seal along the tranny and actual block.

nah.... i am soorrry!! It turned out to be the actual bloc itself!! They resurfaced it and did a valve job!! Also my camshaft needed a replacement; the lobes were dull! Oh yea along with a bearing modification because it could never be lubricated properly. Forgot to mention new rockers, lifters, and the rest of my money!! :'( But it is so much quiter!! I do need to find out why my car is still slow; not to mention while I was on the highway the car bogged down to like first gear! I'll have to situate the carb. I think... I tell ya if it isn't one thing it will be another...

                                                     still lovn' my car,
