Came across this ad in a 1976 Better Homes & Garden Mag.

This ad is interesting to me. In the center picture it looks like a Pinto body is being dipped in primer or paint or something. Did Ford really do this in the later model cars? It sure wasn't happining on 71 and 72 cars, at least not on San Jose built cars.

It looks like the windows are all in and the trim is on. I don't think its a "dip" in the production line but maybe, like Tony suggested its a "flood test of some type?

It is primer dipped, it says right there in the ad  ;D
