hello i just put back together my pinto bc it needed a new water pump it has been sitting for about five years. the problem is that when i go to crank it over it turns once twice and then stops i can back it up by hand and retry but the same thing over again is it sezied or what?? this is a 79 2.3l pinto

possibly a hydro-lock. I'd say pull all the plugs, and try to turn it over. if it still stops when you turn it, then you have a problem that might take some experimenting.

Thanks for all of the help i tryed the hydro-lock method and it turn right over after a couple of trys now it pops out the carb when you crank it over i made the mistake of putting gas down there :o big fire oops

Check Thrust washers on crank,If they were rusty they spin.
