Title: Build sheet
Post by: Tercin on November 04, 2005, 01:35:43 PM
The other day I got a wild hair and decided to do a bit of poking around my 73 Sports accent. Low and behold there it was between the seat springs and the foam, under the passenger seat was the coveted build sheet. A bit tattered but complete. I know how to figure out some of it but not all of it, still after 32 years and 1 previous owner it was still there and readable.

Depending how wadded up it is what I have done is use steam form an iron to get the paper softened up as much as possible. But don't hold it close. It needs the moisture, not really the heat. The paper is so dried out there's not chance of getting it near flat without some humidity. Even with doing this you will have pieces break off, but if you can eventually get everything flat you can tape the pieces back on. And don't try to do it at one sitting. Do a little bit every day. Give it a little humidity every day as it unravels.

Tercin, what parts can't you figure out? Maybe I can help you.

Most of it is what each code means. Since the car si mostly original or repaired to stock specs, I think it will be a matter of taking the time to sit down and really think about each part. Winter will be cold, that will be the time to sit down and look things over a bit.
