on my passenger side under head light but above the bumper there is a clean cut hole that is in front of the intake system. i was wondering if it came with ram air. 1980

Check out the photo.
First time I have heard anyone mention this on this group.

I think that is something the wagons had.

wow, The one I saw was on a 73ish wagon. I snagged it out of the junk yard becouse I though it would make a good cold air system. It would be cool to know just what/how many types/years this was on.
Like Hoots pointed out..
I think it is cool that there is a hidden hole under the pass. headlight to supply the air for the ductwork.
Had a 78 2.3 bobcat hatch that had that setup. Had a 78 2.3 pinto wagon that did not. ???
Was it some sort of special order thing or maybe a region specific item? My 73 runabout has all the holes for it, but it was never installed.

My 2.3 79 sedan had that. I can't remember if it hooked up to the hole under the light, but my 77 and 78 both have the tube into the fender (well, the 77 has a different one now......). I also like the air duct fo the battery.

My '74 has the same "in the fender" air pickup. Not sure if it actually goes up behind the headlight though. However having that cold air intake run directly over the exhaust manifold sorta defeats the purpose.
My Taurus wag. (RIP) had a similar setup as well, but it was just a choke point. it had about a 3" throttle body & the air intake had a 2 1/2" opening!?!
