Title: Got some shiny happing here.
Post by: 71hotrodpinto on October 09, 2005, 11:18:10 PM
Hello all, been awhile since i took a pic of the car at all .
Working on freshening up the rear undercarriage a bit. GOD what a mess it was. :o All the leaf hardware and well geeze everything (cept the shocks, and the under-body) needed massaging with the wire wheel ! (actually many different kinds of wire wheels ) I was covered in rust and dirt from the cleaning of the parts, and then later with black paint overspray :P If you ever use a wire wheel to de-rust don't forget the dust mask, and also for spray-painting overhead :P

So this is just the first part of painting. Next weekend is the engine compartment and then the middle of the undercarrige.
Then hopefully start running brake-lines ,gas-lines, and fuel pump mounting etc etc etc AHHHHHHGGGG!!!!
God will this ever be done??? LOL
well hope i get a shiny point or 2 for this ;D
Till later all

Bravo!!!!!! Looking really good 71. You guys are forcing me into a shiney corner. Yellow or Orange sounds excellant.
Hell!!!! It's a Pinto. And I can relate to that comment about Pintony. His Pintomanship certainly is a tough act to follow.

71, you arent making this any easier on the rest of us, you know  ;). Say, what color orange?  My 80 is Flame Orange (redish orange) - is that the one?  BTW, what size tires are you running?  Keep the pics coming - your hard work will pay off soon!

Hey there thanks gearhead ,sorry bout the shiny though (NOT) LOL!!
The orange I'm thinking about is hard to describe. I first thought it was "competition orange" but i think thats a bit dull.
If its orange than it will be a brighter orange ( not neon style !!) If yellow I was thinking of a corvette yelllow. Ive also tossed around the idea of a Porsche red.
Not to sure yet, but i have to be carefull, going to be living with it for a long time.

Well the tires that i have on there are not what i wanted but for now its T/A radials 225 60 15 on the rear and Dunlop SP8000 195 55 14 in the front. When i can breath financially ill be upgrading the fronts to 15s, same autodrags , and some T/As 205 50 15 fronts then 245 60 15 in the rear.   Not to mention upgrading the brakes to wilwood's .
Just needs a little TLC ( TONS  of LOOT and CASH ) Oh and tons of time!!
