Title: Scored new pinto (FREE)
Post by: 77turbopinto on September 27, 2005, 07:47:42 PM
Yea, my favorite price. Before you hate me, overall this car is junk, but it was.... free.

It is an old mini stock that was not built well, set-up well, or from the way it looks, driven well, but... it was free. I would never race this with this cage. The good part is you will not go hungry with it, there is plenty of "pop-corn".

The motor is locked (sitting outside with no carb), but the car was able to roll on to my trailer. I still need to check out the car for goodies. The rear is a 6.75 23 spline, but don't know the gears.

Useable parts....     free.

I have a spare engine or two just kicking around the house, might drop one in and have some fun in the yard (or at my buddie's place in NH. 100+ acres with some big open fields.

Yea, like you would have passed it by ::).

Lots of good parts, it is a 74 or later. Engine mount brackets, engine parts, clutch cable, pedals, tranny, rear, steering rack, front suspention (a little tweeked),

Anyone that is a member here, and had the ability to get it, would have done what I did. This is not a hobbie, it is a problem that I have no control over. I would join a 12 step program, but I most likely woud drive to the meetings, and I would use the pinto to do that.....

Bill

PS. Pintony, still want those parts. Please let me know when.

Thanks, I will as soon as I can. My comp. will not read any ser. or usb ports. It did this a few times and I am tired of it, we are in the process of getting a whole new set-up.

That car is not much to look at anyway, but....

Hello 77turbopinto,
I have my sons engine problems covered.
Thanks for the offer.
Marty Howard is planning on installing a Turbo 2.3 in the 74 Pinto I sold him.
So we worked out a deal to get that engine back.

Oh yeah, i took a deal like that myself.  Grabber blue 71 sedan.   Fellow slid into the ditch in 74 and screwed up the alignment.  Parked it in his yard and it sat there until last summer....when he gave it to me.

Only had 30,000 miles on it, but it was so rusted that my knee went through the rear floorboard.  I only got it for the engine/trans.

It's a shame he just let it rot in his yard. That Pinto was special ordered with grabber blue
as that color was not a regular Pinto color.
